#OffshoreMentalHealth: Training Courses

In the wake of Mental Health Awareness Week, SLPE is thrilled to introduce our latest campaign, #OffshoreMentalHealth, dedicated to shedding light on mental health across the offshore industry. While our industry has made strides in prioritising the wellbeing of its field-based offshore workforce, we feel it’s equally essential to acknowledge and tackle the unique hurdles faced by those in office-based positions. Join us as we work towards fostering a culture of mental wellness throughout the entire offshore industry.
Over the coming months, we will share expert advice and practical tips for empowering office-based offshore individuals and companies to make mental health a priority in the workplace. Stay tuned for our recommendations!
This month, we’d like to highlight the opportunity for offshore companies to benefit from the expertise offered by mental health charities like Mind. By utilising resources such as Mind's face-to-face or online training courses, companies can equip their workforce with essential skills to manage personal challenges effectively and become advocates for mental health within their workplace by offering support to their peers.

Recently, SLPE had the opportunity to participate in one of Mind's 'Lunch and Learn' sessions focusing on Stress and Burnout. The session provided a comprehensive look at the causes of stress, strategies for prevention, and methods for support, offering valuable insights that were greatly appreciated by all who took part. This has reinforced the importance of mental health training for our own office-based staff, and we're eagerly anticipating our next session with Mind in October!
Are you responsible for a team of offshore workers? Consider kickstarting your commitment to mental health and wellbeing by organising a training session to enhance the knowledge and confidence of your team.
If you or your colleagues are dealing with stress or burnout, we encourage you to explore Mind's resources on work-related stress and mental wellbeing here.
Join us in championing #OffshoreMentalHealth and together, let's create workplaces where mental wellbeing is prioritised and supported.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to raise awareness and advocate for mental health throughout the offshore industry.
